The Energy Siting Research Community brings together energy researchers across U-M’s campus to coordinate collaborative research efforts to support sustainable and inclusive siting of energy projects. This Research Community is supported by the Institute for Energy Solutions and the Center for EmPowering Communities.
Our community has expertise in:
Wind and Solar
Assessment of local impacts of renewable energy development on frontline communities and development of inclusive siting tools
Nuclear Technologies
Development and evaluation of participatory design and regulatory strategies for siting nuclear technologies
Datacenters
Improvement of publicly accessible knowledge and community feedback on local datacenter siting decisions
